About Susie

Susie Stevens, the writer of Stuff By Susie

Susie Stevens is the writer of this blog, Stuff By Susie’s Health Blog. She lives in Balmain, Sydney in Australia with her husband, Bill and runs her own business, Bold Type, from home.

Yah, this gives her plenty of flexibility to go to gym classes: Japanese and Hatha Yoga classes are her favourite.

Susie also manages and writes for a number of websites including Balmain Website Designs, Ski The World, Liza McKilliam Real Estate and Captivations.

Susie has worked in publishing and communications for most of her career for not-for-profit organisations, in education publishing and as a publisher.

Ever committed to social causes including the environment, feminism and gay rights, in 2005 Susie was awarded a PhD from Sydney University for a thesis on the celebration of difference which critiqued the concept of sexual difference in conventional 2oth century discourses. She argued that the way sexual difference is defined has contributed on the oppression of women and gays. Her thesis explores ways that we can rethink differences in terms of pleasure and therefore embrace and celebrate differences between people.

This Health Blog is part of the Stuff By Susie blog hosted on WordPress started in response to people moaning about things but not doing anything. This Health Blog came about when Susie wanted to test The Dukan Diet to see if it really could move the seemingly immovable roll of fat that had found it’s way to her middrift.

BTW, Susie’s hair is by Sharon at Glitterbox in Newtown. She is a gun hair stylist as are the other senior stylists at Glitterbox and they don’t charge the earth. She built their website which is pretty gorgeous.

  1. Hi Susie

Thanks for an inspirational site. Were you able to find Dukan Oat Bran in Australia?

    • Hi Denise. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like the website. The Dukan Diet has really worked for my husband and me. We follow the principles of the diet rather than slavishly doing everything and it still works. Oat Bran is available at large supermarkets and health shops: organic but not Dukan branded.
      Cheers
      Susie
